Hugo Boss Announces Departure of Chief Operating Officer Heiko Schäfer

Hugo Boss, the renowned fashion brand, has announced that its Chief Operating Officer Heiko Schäfer will be leaving the company at the end of this month. Schäfer, who joined the firm in March 2020, has played a vital role in the company’s operations, focusing on global product development and sourcing, own manufacturing, logistics, and sustainability.

During his time at Hugo Boss, Schäfer spearheaded the digitalization and streamlining of the company’s product development and logistics processes. Additionally, he worked towards realigning the company’s own manufacturing in response to the casualization trend, adapting to changing consumer preferences. Furthermore, he made significant efforts to strengthen Hugo Boss’ sustainability initiatives, reflecting the growing importance of sustainability in the fashion industry.

CEO Daniel Grieder expressed his appreciation for Schäfer’s contributions, emphasizing his impact in building an efficient and sustainable operations backbone for the company. Grieder also commended Schäfer for his role in stabilizing Hugo Boss amidst the challenging COVID-19 crisis and helping it regain momentum afterwards.

The chairman of the supervisory board, Hermann Waldemer, also conveyed his gratitude to Schäfer for his dedication and efforts on behalf of the company. Schäfer himself expressed gratitude and pride in being part of the Hugo Boss team and assured his continued support for the brand as a fan and loyal customer.

Following Schäfer’s departure, the departments that previously reported to him will be distributed among the remaining management board departments. Global product development will now come under the supervision of CEO Daniel Grieder. Additionally, Yves Müller will assume responsibility for sourcing, own manufacturing, logistics, and sustainability.

As Schäfer leaves, Hugo Boss prepares for a new chapter in its operations with new leadership. The fashion industry is constantly evolving, and Hugo Boss aims to navigate these changes and stay at the forefront of the industry.
