Highsnobiety Launches Off-White Fashion Scholarship Fund Capsule Collection

Highsnobiety has recently announced the exciting launch of a new capsule collection called the Off-White Fashion Scholarship Fund. This collection, designed by the renowned Virgil Abloh in 2021, initially aimed to support the Fashion Scholarship Fund that Abloh himself announced in July 2020. Through a collaborative effort between Highsnobiety, Off-White, and the Fashion Scholarship Fund, this unique collection has now been brought to life. Notably, all proceeds from the collection will be directed towards the Virgil Abloh ‘Post-Modern’ Scholarship Fund.

The primary objective of this fund is to promote equality and inclusion within the fashion industry. It aims to achieve this by providing scholarships exclusively to students of Black, African-American, or African descent, thus supporting the next generation of Black fashion industry leaders. To introduce the collection, Highsnobiety has scheduled an exclusive launch on their online store, the Highsnobiety Shop, on April 13, 2022. The collection itself features a varsity jacket, hoodie, and t-shirt, all thoughtfully designed by Virgil Abloh and the Off-White Studio. Additionally, a captivating campaign has been created to accompany the collection, showcasing members of the inaugural 2021 class of “Post-Modern” Scholars proudly wearing the pieces.

Thom Bettridge, Highsnobiety’s editor-in-chief, expressed his deep sense of honor and pride in being part of the collaboration that contributes to Virgil Abloh’s ever-enduring cultural legacy. He emphasized the importance of providing new opportunities for young individuals, a value that Abloh consistently championed. The ‘Post-Modern’ Scholarship Fund, thus, serves as a remarkable extension of Abloh’s commitment to nurturing young talents. Notably, more than forty ‘Post-Modern’ scholars have already received college scholarship awards, underscoring the fund’s significant impact.

Peter Arnold, the executive director of the Fashion Scholarship Fund, graciously acknowledged the support of Highsnobiety and Off-White in upholding and continuing Virgil Abloh’s impactful legacy. Arnold highlighted the immeasurable influence that Abloh had on the lives of the inaugural class of ‘Post-Modern’ Scholars. By collaborating with Highsnobiety and Off-White, the Fashion Scholarship Fund aims to sustain and carry forward Abloh’s groundbreaking work.

The launch of the capsule collection represents a powerful and substantial contribution towards fostering diversity and inclusivity within the fashion industry. Not only does this collaboration pay homage to the extraordinary legacy of Virgil Abloh, but it also empowers and supports the emerging generation of Black fashion industry leaders. Through this initiative, Highsnobiety, Off-White, and the Fashion Scholarship Fund are actively creating opportunities that enable aspiring young talents to succeed and leave their indelible mark on the industry.
