Highly Anticipated June Edition of New York Fashion Week

The highly anticipated June edition of New York Fashion Week is quickly approaching, with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) releasing the official schedule for the event. Starting off with shows from Monse and Alexander Wang on May 31, the event will run from June 2 through June 6, culminating in the prestigious 2019 CFDA Fashion Awards on June 3.

In addition to the women’s shows, the New York Fashion Week: Men’s Spring-Summer 2020 programming will take place from June 3 to June 5. Kicking off with New York Men’s Day (NYMD) on June 3, this season’s lineup includes 14 designers showcasing their collections simultaneously in two time slots. NYMD will be hosted at a new location at 450 West 31st Street, offering a fresh backdrop for the men’s fashion festivities.

While New York Fashion Week: Men’s has faced challenges in establishing a strong global presence, some brands have opted to jump ship to Paris to unveil their men’s collections. For instance, Palomo Spain and Bode, notable participants in previous New York shows, will now be showcasing in Paris during the June menswear fashion week alongside other prominent labels like Sies Marjan.

As the fashion world gears up for the June festivities, it also marks the beginning of Tom Ford’s tenure as the chairman of the CFDA. Originally set to take the reins in January 2020, Ford’s start date was moved up to June 1. Under Ford’s leadership, there are plans to streamline NYFW’s September schedule from eight days to five days later in the year.

Overall, the June edition of New York Fashion Week promises to deliver a dynamic and innovative showcase of the latest trends and designs from top industry talent. Attendees can look forward to a captivating blend of creativity, style, and cutting-edge fashion during this highly anticipated event.
