Highly Anticipated 2022 Hyères Festival Announces Jury Members and Finalists

The highly anticipated 2022 edition of the Hyères Festival is just a few months away, and while we eagerly await this exciting event, the festival has announced the members of its esteemed jury and the list of finalists. Among the standout figures is Glenn Martens, the president of the fashion jury and the guest of honor. Martens, known for his role as the creative director of Y/Project, recently showcased his talent at the Jean-Paul Gaultier Spring-Summer 2022 Haute Couture collection during Paris Fashion Week. Now, he is set to be celebrated by the Festival de Hyères, where he will lead the panel of judges and take on the role of guest of honor.

Joining Martens in the difficult task of selecting the winners are renowned industry professionals such as Eugénie Trochu, the Head of Editorial Content at Vogue France; Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadien, the creators and founders of the brand Ottolinger; Tiffany Hsu, the Fashion Buying Director of MyTheresa; musician Max Colombie; artist Frederik Heyman; and Ifeanyi Okwuadi, last year’s winner of the Première Vision Jury Prize.

This esteemed jury will have the challenge of choosing the ultimate winner of the fashion competition from a pool of ten talented candidates. The finalists include Priss Niinikoski, Jenny Hytönen, Alix Habran Jensen, Sini Saavala, Tim Suessbauer, Lora Sonney, Fernando Miro, Alizée Loubet, Valentin Lessner, Antonia Schreiter, and Juha Vehmaanperä.

In the photography category, Pierre Debusschere, the esteemed photographer, director, and founder of studio 254 Forest, will lead the photography jury. Debusschere will be joined by Pieter Mulier, the artistic director of Alaïa; Lucie Chadwick, a gallery director; Rebecca Cuglietta, the studio manager of 254 Forest; Carlijn Jacobs, a photographer; Pauline de Montferrand, the digital creative director of Chanel perfumes and beauty; Evelyn Simons, a curator; and Emma Charrin and Olivier Muller, the winners of the 2021 Grand Jury Prize.

The photography finalists include Emma June Roze, Chiron Duong, Mathilda Olmi, Christopher Barraja, Rala Choi, Axel Auréjac, Clara Belleville, Alex Avgud, Adeline Care, and Eleonora Strano.

As for the accessories category, the fashion accessories competition will be presided over by Aska Yamashita, the guest of honor and artistic director of Montex embroidery workshop, which is a subsidiary of Chanel’s Paraffection Métiers d’art. Yamashita will be accompanied by Mathieu Bassée, the creative and development director of Studio MTX; Alexandre Blanc, the creator of his eponymous brand; Eloi Chafaï, a designer and co-founder of Normal Studio; Yasmine Eslami, the creator of her eponymous brand; Emilie Hammen, a stylist, Art History doctor, fashion historian at IFM, and director of the Chanel and Le19M chair; Gianpaolo Pagni, a visual artist; and Capucine Huguet, the 2021 Grand Jury Prize winner in the accessories category.

The ten finalists in the accessories competition are Justine Gévas, Lisa van Wersch, Joshua Cannone, Lee Le Prunennec, Louise Leï Wang, Scylia Chevaux, Lola Mossino, Mélissa Café, Bérénice Noël, and Adèle Dentaletche.

Mark your calendars for the dates 13th to 16th of October, 2022, as the Villa Noailles will host the revealing of the winners of the 2022 Hyères Festival. This event promises to be an exciting celebration of talent and creativity in the fashion and arts industries.
