Hermès Recognized for Commitment to Diversity and Leadership Quality

Hermès, the renowned luxury house, has recently been recognized for its commitment to diversity and has achieved a high ranking in the prestigious Glassdoor ranking. According to the latest report, Hermès holds the 23rd position in the Glassdoor leadership ranking, which is based on 56,000 reviews submitted anonymously by employees from April 2021 to April 2022. The study aims to highlight French companies that excel in terms of leadership quality, and this year, the top three positions are occupied by Dataiku, Retail Renault Group, and Contentsquare, with the IT industry dominating the Top 25 France list.

What sets Hermès apart from other companies in this ranking is that it is the only representative of the luxury industry. Among the eight sectors included in the study, Hermès stands out for its exceptional performance. With a rating of 4 out of 5, the brand solidifies its reputation as a leader in the luxury market. It is notable that Hermès employed 17,595 individuals last year, with a majority (over 62%) based in France.

Furthermore, Hermès has received additional recognition earlier this year by securing a place in Glassdoor’s Top 10 Best Employers in France. This accolade further affirms the brand’s commitment to creating a positive and fulfilling work environment for its employees.

The management study conducted alongside the leadership ranking sheds light on the significance of effective leadership in organizations. It reveals that “employees are twice as likely to talk about management when it is poor.” The study examines the most commonly used terms by teams to describe their leadership. Positive terminologies such as “kindness,” “listening,” “autonomy,” and “inclusivity” are frequently mentioned, indicating the positive impact of these qualities on employee satisfaction and overall work experience.

However, the report also emphasizes the recurring use of critical terms such as “pressure,” “bad,” “toxic,” and “micromanagement.” These negative terms highlight the areas where improvement is needed in leadership practices. Identifying and addressing these concerns is crucial for creating a healthy work environment and fostering employee well-being.

In conclusion, Hermès’ inclusion in the Glassdoor leadership ranking showcases its exceptional commitment to leadership quality in the luxury industry. The brand’s recognition further solidifies its position as a top employer in France. The study also emphasizes the importance of effective leadership in organizations and highlights the need to address negative aspects to create a positive work environment.
