Hermès Inaugurates Brand-New Store in Wuxi, China

Hermès, the prestigious luxury fashion house, has recently inaugurated a brand-new store in Wuxi, China, reaffirming its dedication to expanding its footprint in the Chinese market. Situated in the Liangxi District’s Center 66, the store boasts a distinctive architectural design, drawing inspiration from water and stone elements. The exterior pays homage to the traditional Ming temple roofs with dark-blue vertical wooden tiles, creating a mesmerizing ripple effect reminiscent of the Yangtze River’s sinuous course.

Spanning two floors, the store offers an extensive range of high-end products for both men and women. On the first level, shoppers can peruse through women’s silk garments, fashionable jewelry, men’s silk pieces, fragrances, and men’s ready-to-wear items. The men’s ready-to-wear section bathes in natural light and features a remarkable dark-blue ceramic staircase complemented by a bronze guard rail that mimics the appearance of rain. Ascending this staircase leads to the leather universe and men’s shoe section. The second level unveils women’s ready-to-wear and shoe areas, along with equestrian accessories, homeware collections, jewelry, watches, and a private lounge.

The store’s interior design is the brainchild of the Paris-based architecture agency, RDAI. Both levels showcase granite grey stone floors adorned with mosaic carpets featuring the Faubourg pattern, infused with delicate dark-blue and pale-yellow tones. This design pays homage to the bas-relief in the Chenghuang temple during the Ming dynasty. Furthermore, the curved ceilings adorned with light oak wood further accentuate the store’s mineral essence, creating an immersive shopping experience.

Adding to the store’s allure, Hermès has curated art pieces from prominent French artists. These include Thierry Ardouin’s captivating photograph titled l’Arbre du voyageur, as well as Antoine Carbonne’s carré design originals from the prestigious Émile Hermès collection. These exquisite artworks imbue the store with an air of sophistication, elevating the overall ambiance.

With the establishment of this new store, Hermès now boasts an impressive total of 34 locations in China, consolidating its presence in the prosperous Jiangsu province. Often dubbed as the “land of rice and fish,” Jiangsu is renowned for its economic significance. The unveiling of the Wuxi store not only enables Hermès to reach a broader customer base but also serves as a testament to its unwavering commitment to delivering luxury products and an unparalleled shopping experience to its Chinese clientele.
