Hermès Festival of Crafts in Sydney

French luxury brand Hermès is set to hold its Festival of Crafts in Sydney from October 2nd to 6th. The event will showcase the expertise of eight artisans who are responsible for creating the brand’s renowned pieces.

The Festival of Crafts is part of Hermès’ commitment to preserving and transmitting craftsmanship knowledge. In addition to participating in training projects for future artisans, such as the Excellence Pole of Leather and Luxury in Aquitaine, the brand sets itself apart by organizing this world tour.

Having toured various cities including London, Shanghai, New York, Paris, and Beijing, the Festival of Crafts will now make its way to Sydney. The event will take place at the Museum of Contemporary Art in the city, offering visitors a unique opportunity to witness the artisanal skills of Hermès craftsmen.

For four days, the artisans will demonstrate their expertise, working under the same conditions as in their workshops. The event will showcase the different manufacturing techniques employed by artisans specializing in watchmaking, tie-making, saddlery, hand-painting, silk engraving, as well as leather and gem craftsmanship.

The Festival of Crafts not only celebrates craftsmanship but also emphasizes its importance in ensuring the exceptional quality of Hermès products. Visitors will have the chance to interact with the artisans, sharing anecdotes and learning manufacturing secrets. The production process of iconic items like the silk scarf will be explained in detail.

For those interested in experiencing the Festival of Crafts, it will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney from October 2nd to 6th.
