Renowned Parisian luxury brand, Hermès, has expanded its reach with the opening of its first store in Michigan. Located in the northern suburb of Metro Detroit, specifically at the Somerset Collection mall in Troy, the new Hermès boutique offers a comprehensive selection of the brand’s prestigious products. From menswear and womenswear to footwear, accessories, fragrance, beauty, leather goods, and equestrian products, customers can explore a wide range of options.
The store’s design is a masterpiece created by the esteemed Parisian architecture firm RDAI. Paying homage to the natural beauty of the American Midwest, the exterior of the store features a polished Saint Clair limestone facade with a subtle chevron pattern inspired by a bird feather. As visitors step inside, they are welcomed by a striking wooden structure that highlights Hermès’ vibrant silk and jewelry collections. Behind this display, granite walls separate different areas dedicated to specific product categories.
Strategically planned, the store layout places fragrances and the newly launched beauty line to the right, followed by the equestrian products section. In the center, Hermès presents its leather goods in an environment surrounded by light brown and gray stone walls. Throughout the store, the continuity in aesthetics is maintained by the American oak parquet flooring.
Further into the store, an alcove adorned with floral fabric and wooden panels showcases Hermès’ menswear, womenswear, and footwear. This area also boasts the brand’s watches and jewelry, with a private lounge for customers. Adding a touch of elegance, the space is illuminated by Hermès’ iconic molded glass “Grecque” light fittings, which date back to 1925.
