Hermès, the renowned luxury brand, is set to unveil the behind-the-scenes creation of one of its most iconic pieces, the Hermès carré, in Paris as part of its Carré Club exhibition. This prestigious event follows successful exhibitions in cities such as New York, Toronto, Singapore, Los Angeles, and Milan.
The Hermès carré, which measures 90cm x 90cm, is a versatile accessory that can be styled in countless ways. This year, the brand invited everyone to participate in its first-ever illustration contest, which received an overwhelming number of entries. With over 2,000 patterns and an expansive color palette of 75,000 shades, the carré showcases the Maison’s expertise and timeless design.
To celebrate the carré’s rich history dating back to 1937, Hermès has dedicated ten days to this accessory in the heart of Paris. The Carreau du Temple will host the event, offering various spaces for visitors to explore. The Carré Studio will provide the opportunity to meet and interact with the brand’s talented illustrators, including Alice Shirley, Cyrille Diatkine, Gianpaolo Pagni, and more. Visitors can also immerse themselves in the story of the carré’s creation in the Carré Stories space, and learn about the art and techniques of tying at the Carré Cut.
The Hermès Carré Club goes beyond the expected, offering live performances and thematic conferences at the Carré Café. For those seeking entertainment, Carré OK provides karaoke sessions, while Carré Park showcases skateboard performances dressed by the brand. These elements pay homage to urban skateboarding culture, which has been celebrated in previous Maison campaigns.
After exploring the Carré Click photo corner, guests can visit Carré Mania, a pop-up store featuring a selection of carrés, including limited editions. This allows enthusiasts and admirers to take a piece of the Carré Club experience home.
The much-anticipated Hermès Carré Club exhibition will open on November 29, with free admission by reservation. Reservations can be made through the Maison’s website starting from November 19. This immersive event promises to be a true celebration of the Hermès carré and its intricate craftsmanship.
