Hermès and Rolls-Royce Partner to Create Bespoke Phantom Oribe

French luxury house Hermès has partnered with British automaker Rolls-Royce to create a one-of-a-kind vehicle, the Bespoke Phantom Oribe, in response to a request from Japanese entrepreneur Yuzaku Maezawa. Maezawa, who recently purchased a private jet, wanted a matching car, leading to the creation of the Bespoke Phantom Oribe.

The car gets its name from Maezawa’s passion for the 16th-century Oribe ceramics collection. The primary color of the vehicle, “MZ Oribe Green,” is a custom shade specifically referencing the hue found in these antique ceramics.

Inside the vehicle, the handmade interior boasts opulent materials and textures, including “Enea” leather utilized in various details such as the champagne cooler, glove box interior, and door handles. The car is also equipped with lamb’s wool floor mats and armrests adorned with “Toile H” fabric.

Rolls-Royce has added a distinctive feature to the car called the “Galerie,” which is a glass section positioned at dashboard level. This area showcases a walnut veneer adorned with two hand-painted horse heads inspired by illustrator Pierre Péron’s patterns used on Hermès silk products.

This collaboration between Hermès and Rolls-Royce is not the luxury brand’s first foray into the automotive sector. The company has been working with Bugatti for several decades on various collaborations and special editions.

The Bespoke Phantom Oribe represents the epitome of craftsmanship, luxury, and the fusion of art and automotive design. This unique creation serves as a testament to the technical prowess and creativity of both Hermès and Rolls-Royce.
