Harrods Introduces Dedicated Sportswear Room in Revamped Menswear Department

Harrods, the famous luxury department store in London, has taken a significant step in recognizing the importance of sportswear by introducing a dedicated sportswear room in its revamped menswear department. Spanning 4000 sq ft, this newly unveiled space is designed to cater to all active pursuits and is a key part of Harrods’ ongoing renovation project, which started in 2018. The menswear department, now located on the second floor, has been transformed into a convenient one-stop-shop, offering both active and leisure sportswear.

The sportswear room at Harrods features 20 highly sought-after performance and specialty brands, including five that are entirely new to the store. This expansion serves to enhance Harrods’ existing men’s sports offering, providing customers with an even wider range of options. Within the department, there are nine permanent branded shop fits, such as ON Running, Lululemon (offering the brand’s first men’s-only destination in the UK), and Rapha. Additionally, EA7, Fred Perry, and Lacoste have been included in the department, adding a more lifestyle-oriented approach to the selection.

In addition to the permanent shop fits, the central multi-brand area showcases renowned labels like K Way, Falke sports socks, and compression wear from 2XU. A pop-up section also accompanies the permanent shop fits, offering a rotating selection of brands. Currently, Australian cycling brand MAAP occupies this space, catering to the growing community of cyclists. The sportswear room’s design was created by David Collins Studio, maintaining the aesthetic of the previously launched rooms, with grey and white checked marble flooring, contemporary marble pillars, and a cool-toned palette for a modern ambiance. Harrods has chosen a clean and masculine combination of metals and marbles, incorporating minimal natural woods within the space.

Simon Longland, the head of menswear at Harrods, expressed his excitement about the launch of the sportswear room, highlighting that it marks the final stage of the complete overhaul of the men’s universe at Harrods. He emphasized the store’s commitment to meeting the needs of every customer, especially as summer approaches and outdoor activities become more popular. The range of brands in the new room aims to elevate customers’ workout wardrobes, enabling them to feel their best and most agile, whether they prefer indoor or outdoor exercise. With the introduction of this dedicated sportswear room, Harrods solidifies its position as a top destination for luxury sportswear, offering customers a diverse selection of high-quality brands and a unique shopping experience.
