- In these guidelines, we outline the criteria for the special pieces that bidders seek in our Photography auctions and provide instructions on how to successfully offer your photography items for auction.
- Our team of experts and account managers will be available to support and guide you toward success on ULTIMZ.
What We Look For and Curate:
- Scarce Photographs & Rare Photomechanical Prints that are not widely available on the market.
- Photographs made by recognized and reputed photographers.
- Photographs with historical or photo-historical value and subject matter that appeals to collectors.
- Photographs clearly attributed by a signature (imprinted) or stamp from the photographer or an acknowledged representative, and in good condition at a minimum.
Product Guidelines:
- ULTIMZ auctions photographs made by reputable and recognized photographers from the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as emerging talent from the 21st century.
- We seek a range of rare and collectable photographs and photomechanical prints that are not easily available on the secondary market.
- Photographs or photomechanical prints should be made by artists or photographers found in reference catalogues or with a proven secondary market value of at least €75.
- We welcome emerging 21st-century photographers who meet specific criteria.
Unsuitable Types of Photography:
- We do not accept digital versions of photos or prints on demand.
- Unofficial reprints without traceable sources are not suitable.
- Prints without a signature (imprinted) or stamp are not accepted.
- Items produced by publishers, archives, etc., in open editions that are still generally available on the secondary market are not suitable.
Clearly Visible Attribution:
- Collectors value works that can be clearly attributed to the photographer. This can be achieved through a signature, stamp, or documented attribution in catalogues, books, or publications.
