Our team of seasoned experts and dedicated account managers stands ready to support and guide you toward achieving success on ULTIMZ.

What We Seek and Curate: For our Classical Art auctions, we actively seek works of art spanning from the XVI century up to 1945, including:

  • Paintings
  • Prints
  • Works on paper (watercolors, drawings, etc.) These artworks should meet the following criteria:
  • Be in impeccable condition
  • Possess a minimum estimated value of €100
  • Feature shipping costs that align proportionately with the object’s value

Product Guidelines:

  • At ULTIMZ, we categorize our auctions into two main sections: artworks and prints. Further, Classical Artworks auctions are categorized based on price range.
  • The minimum lot value for Classical Artworks is €300.
  • The minimum lot value for Premium Classical Artworks is €1000.
  • Affordable Classical Artworks fall within the €100 to €300 price range.
  • For Classical Prints auctions, the minimum lot value is €100.
  • Premium Classical Prints auctions have a minimum lot value of €250.

Auction Categories and Authentication:

  • Our emphasis lies in ensuring the authenticity, content, and condition of the artwork. To facilitate acceptance, artworks may necessitate supplementary documentation to substantiate their authenticity, including Certificates of Authenticity (COAs), invoices, references to the artist’s catalogue raisonné, provenance details, or documentation from the artist’s estate or committee.
  • Our team of experts conducts individual assessments for each artwork, considering aspects such as attribution, provenance, and condition.

Authentication Submission Guidelines:

  • A comprehensive and descriptive account is instrumental in attracting potential buyers. Your description should encompass:
    • The artist’s full name, including the year of birth and death.
    • The artwork’s title.
    • The medium employed in the artwork (e.g., oil on canvas).
    • The overall dimensions of the artwork (in centimeters or inches), encompassing the frame.
    • Details regarding the period and year of creation (when ascertainable).
    • Indications of whether the artwork bears signatures, stamps, marks, or dates.
    • Information about the artwork’s edition (original or part of a series).
    • Disclosure of whether the artwork is framed.
    • An assessment of the artwork’s condition.
    • A comprehensive history of the artwork and its provenance.
    • Supplementary evidence supporting authenticity or attribution.
    • Additional shipping-related information.

Guidelines on Attribution:

  • Clarity in attributing the artist is of utmost importance:
    • Artist’s Workshop: Denotes artworks produced within the master’s workshop or under their supervision.
    • Circle of the Artist: Signifies works created during the artist’s lifetime or within fifty years after their passing.
    • Attributed to the Artist: Indicates artworks for which credible evidence supports the attribution to the mentioned artist.
  • Additionally, provide insights into the artist’s background, materials and techniques employed, the artwork’s condition, restoration history, and provenance.

Photographs Submission Guidelines:

  • High-quality photographs play a pivotal role in capturing the attention of buyers who are unable to physically inspect the item. To provide potential buyers with a comprehensive view, submit a minimum of 5 high-quality images featuring:
    • A full view of the artwork, both with and without its frame, showcasing details, signatures (if applicable), and any indications of damage or restoration. A UV light can help reveal any restoration work if necessary.
    • For paintings, include a photograph of the rear side.
    • For prints, furnish detailed images of numbering, editions, signatures, and watermarks.
    • Ensure that the background remains neutral and that images are captured in natural or professional lighting, avoiding the use of flash or artificial lighting to prevent color distortion.
    • You may supplement your submission with images of documents supporting authenticity, provenance, as well as references from books or media articles related to the artwork or the artist.
    • Incorporate photographs displaying any blemishes, signs of wear, repairs, or restorations to prevent post-sale cancellations.
    • The primary image of the lot should feature a cropped view, excluding any background, frame, or mounting.
    • Avoid using stock photos or images sourced from the internet.
    • Refrain from incorporating any body parts into the photographs; instead, utilize white gloves when capturing detailed shots.
    • Limit your focus to the item(s) you intend to sell, refraining from displaying room details (e.g., furniture, curtains), domestic settings, or outdoor photographs featuring landscapes.

By adhering to these guidelines, you become an integral part of the vibrant world of classical art on ULTIMZ, offering collectors the opportunity to discover and acquire exceptional pieces. We extend our gratitude for joining us on this thrilling journey!
