Gucci’s Efforts in Battling the Coronavirus

Italian luxury brand Gucci is actively participating in the battle against the coronavirus epidemic and is enlisting its community to join the collective effort. As part of its commitment, the brand will be making two financial contributions.

Previously, we were already aware of the measures taken by the Kering group in response to the ongoing health crisis, as well as Gucci’s response to the appeal from the Tuscany region to produce protective masks for healthcare workers. In a recent announcement, the Florentine brand revealed that it will be making two donations to crowdfunding campaigns.

One million euros will be donated to the Intesa Sanpaolo For Funding platform which aims to raise funds to strengthen the services provided by the National Department of Civil Protection in Italy, Gucci’s home country. Additionally, another one million euros will be donated to the United Nations Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund to support the World Health Organization. This contribution will be specifically dedicated to the surveillance and collection of data on the spread of the coronavirus, in order to adjust healthcare and research efforts accordingly.

By calling on the #GucciCommunity, the brand hopes to unite its fans and encourage them to contribute to these causes. Gucci has shared the link to the Italian crowdfunding campaign on its various social media platforms and has also implemented a donation system through the United Nations in its official Instagram account’s stories using the “sticker” feature. Furthermore, an email campaign has been launched to garner support for this initiative.

Gucci’s aim is clear: they want to foster unity and solidarity with their community during these challenging times. CEO Marco Bizzarri and Creative Director Alessandro Michele have urged everyone to become changemakers in this crisis and unite forces to fight against the coronavirus. This commitment to their community is evident in Gucci’s efforts to involve their supporters in this initiative. By providing information and easy avenues for contribution, the brand is empowering individuals to make a significant difference and support the fight against the pandemic.
