Gucci: The Most Sought-After Ready-to-Wear Brand in Q4 2018

According to data released by Lyst, the global fashion search platform, Italian brand Gucci has emerged as the most sought-after ready-to-wear brand by consumers worldwide in the last quarter of 2018. This ranking was compiled based on the behavior of 5 million consumers who conducted online fashion searches and made purchases from 12,000 brands and online boutiques. Gucci claimed the top spot in the “The Index,” which also takes into account social media indicators. Over 6 million customers searched for Gucci accessories, such as bags, belts, and shoes, during this period, with a particular focus on their accessories. Gucci surpassed Off-White, who was the leading brand in the previous quarter, to take the first position. Other Italian brands, including Balenciaga, Moncler, Fendi, Versace, Stone Island, and Vetements, also featured prominently in the top 10. It is worth noting that the most popular women’s items in the ranking were dominated by two Gucci accessories, namely the Soho Disco bag and the logo belt. Interestingly, the majority of the ranking consisted of shoes, with the exception of a ski jacket from Moncler and a wallet from Saint Laurent. The Veja V10 sneakers claimed the third spot, followed by the Versace Chain Reaction sneakers in fifth place, and the Ugg Fluff Yeah slippers in sixth place. For men, the Nike Air Force 1 ’07 LV8 Utility Volt sneaker was the most sought-after item, followed by The North Face Nuptse jacket, the Patagonia Classic Retro-X fleece jacket, and the Fendi Bag Bugs windbreaker.
