Gucci Sponsors Arts Thread’s Global Design Graduate Show

Gucci has recently revealed its sponsorship of Arts Thread’s highly anticipated 2021 Global Design Graduate Show. This collaboration follows their successful partnership for last year’s event, which saw an incredible online exhibition featuring talented artists and designers from all corners of the globe. The inaugural exhibition was a response to the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in the cancellation of traditional end-of-year student showcases.

The involvement of Gucci this year only heightens the allure of the event, bringing with it a cutting-edge and fashion-forward appeal. Arts Thread, co-founded by the fashion and trend forecasting expert Katie Dominy, has always placed great emphasis on the world of fashion. Its previous edition showcased winners across a range of categories including womenswear, menswear, print & embroidery, knit & weave, sustainability, and sports & denim. With Gucci as a sponsor, the event’s fashion credentials are set to reach new heights.

The Global Design Graduate Show 2021 is an inclusive platform that welcomes art and design students from all over the world, regardless of their location. These students are invited to submit their outstanding end-of-year projects on the Arts Thread platform until August 31. A panel of esteemed and independent judges, whose identities are yet to be revealed, will carefully select the most promising creatives, whose exceptional work will then be showcased on the platform.

Aside from the winners chosen by the jury, there will also be an opportunity for the public to have their say through a voting system. The prior year’s event received an astounding 4,500 entries from 347 esteemed higher-education institutions from around the world. The public vote alone amassed an incredible 147,000 votes, illustrating the widespread excitement and engagement generated by the exhibition.

Gucci’s sponsorship of the 2021 Global Design Graduate Show serves as a testament to their unwavering dedication to nurturing emerging talent within the arts and design industry. By partnering with Arts Thread once again, Gucci reaffirms its commitment to fostering the growth and development of the next generation of creative professionals.
