Gucci Collaborates with Creators to Utilize Unused Materials

The Italian luxury brand Gucci has brought together a diverse group of creators to develop a series of innovative pieces using its unused materials. This new initiative aligns with Gucci’s circular economy program, which was introduced a few weeks ago. The collaboration includes eleven creators, ranging from artists to brands, who are showcasing the results of their partnership with Gucci. Vans, Alpha Industries, Slam Jam, Alice Pons, Collina Strada, Rare Review, Egonlab, Proleta Re Art, Hodakova, Call of the Void, and DRX Romanelli have all been invited to incorporate Gucci’s dormant fabrics and materials into their designs. From sneakers and bags to hats and ready-to-wear pieces, these unique projects are available for purchase at Gucci Vault, an experimental concept store.

Gucci Continuum represents the brand’s commitment to transcend time by incorporating materials from the past into its future models. While this collection is being promoted through a low-impact campaign with minimal accessories, its main objective is to highlight the recent launch of the Circular Hub. This platform aims to integrate the principles of the circular economy across Gucci’s entire operation, from eco-design to raw material choices, logistics, and product traceability. As a pioneer for this project, Gucci intends to expand the initiative to other brands within the Kering group.

In addition, Gucci has also announced the introduction of Gucci PreLoved, a program designed for the repurchase of used items. Developed in collaboration with the second-hand platform Vestiaire Collective, this program allows customers to exchange select Gucci bags for credits that can be used for in-store or online purchases. The Gucci Continuum capsule collection is expected to be refreshed in the future with the contribution of other talented individuals.
