Gucci Changemakers North America Accepting Applications for Grants and Scholarships

Gucci Changemakers North America, in collaboration with Gucci Equilibrium, is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for the third round of its grants and scholarships initiative. Launched in 2019, this program consists of the Changemakers Impact Fund for non-profit organizations and the Gucci Scholars program for graduating high-school seniors, undergraduate, and community college students.

The Gucci Changemakers Impact Fund for 2022 will award grants of $50,000 each to 12 NGOs for a duration of one year. Additionally, the Gucci Changemakers Scholarship Program will provide up to 10 students with a $20,000 one-year scholarship based on their financial need.

Since its inception, the program has already made a significant impact, committing over $2.5 million in funding. In 2021, recipients included organizations like the Sista Afya Community Center in Chicago, ProjectArt New Orleans, and Weird Enough Productions in Atlanta. Moreover, scholarship recipients from the Gucci Changemakers Scholars program have achieved notable successes in their respective fields. For example, Matthew Williams, a student at Kent State University, plans to establish a learning arts center for youth, while Yetunde Sapp, a student at Parsons School of Design, has created SLAChouz, a BIPOC artist residence and content house.

In the newest phase of Gucci Changemakers, the program has teamed up with renowned writer, producer, and director Sage Dolan-Sandrino, co-director Kam, and cinematographer Chance Chamblin to create a film emphasizing the transformative power of art and creativity as catalysts for radical change. This film will feature narration by Gucci Changemakers scholars and members of the youth community.

The most recent round of initiatives and the opening of applications were announced at the Changemakers Summit, held after the Love Parade runway show on Hollywood Boulevard.

As the third round of applications opens, Gucci Changemakers remains steadfast in its commitment to support and empower individuals and organizations making a positive impact in their communities. Through its grants and scholarships, the program aims to foster social change and provide opportunities to talented individuals who may come up against financial barriers in their education or projects.

Gucci Changemakers North America invites eligible nonprofits and students to apply for this round of funding and scholarships. By investing in these changemakers, Gucci aims to contribute to the advancement of art, creativity, and social progress, ultimately fostering a more equitable and inclusive society.
