Gucci Appoints Maria Cristina Lomanto as EVP and Brand General Manager

Gucci, the renowned luxury fashion brand, has recently announced the appointment of Maria Cristina Lomanto to the position of executive vice president and brand general manager. In this new role, Lomanto will have a wide range of responsibilities, including overseeing the coordination of Gucci’s collection and retail merchandising, as well as visual merchandising, beauty and eyewear licensing, and retail training.

Lomanto brings with her a wealth of experience in the luxury industry, having previously served as the chief executive officer of Roger Vivier, a luxury company owned by Tod’s, in Paris. Her career began at Jil Sander before moving on to Yves Saint Laurent, where she worked in the wholesale department. Lomanto then held various positions within the Prada Group, gaining valuable experience in leather goods merchandising, marketing, and retail management.

The decision to appoint Lomanto comes at a time when Gucci is experiencing unprecedented success. Recent reports from Kering Group, the French conglomerate that owns Gucci, highlight a remarkable 31% increase in revenue for the brand, totaling €9.73 billion in 2021. With the addition of Maria Cristina Lomanto as EVP and brand general manager, Gucci is poised to continue its impressive growth and success in the luxury market. Lomanto’s extensive experience and expertise in the industry make her the ideal candidate to drive the brand forward and build upon its current momentum.

Gucci has solidified its reputation as a powerhouse in the fashion industry, renowned for its innovative designs, iconic branding, and strong presence both in physical retail stores and on digital platforms. Under the leadership of Maria Cristina Lomanto, Gucci is expected to continue pushing boundaries and setting new trends in the luxury fashion world.
