Gucci Announces New Managing Director of Gucci Vault and Metaverse Ventures

Gucci has announced that Robert Triefus will be joining the company as the new managing director of Gucci Vault and Metaverse Ventures, starting from November 1. Triefus will be taking over from Nicolas Oudinot, who has been overseeing the Vault project since November 2020.

In his new role, Triefus will be responsible for driving the evolution and implementation of strategies related to Gucci’s Metaverse Ventures business, which focuses on the brand’s Web3 projects. Additionally, he will oversee the Gucci Vault online platform, which was launched in September 2021 under the guidance of his predecessor.

The appointment of Robert Triefus is a strategic move for Gucci, as he brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in the gaming and Web3 sectors. Throughout his career, Triefus has been deeply involved in the development of these areas, working closely with teams and contributing to the brand’s approach and positioning.

Triefus is no newcomer to Gucci, having joined the company in 2008 as the global director of marketing and communications. He has since held various positions within the organization, including vice president of marketing and executive vice president of brand and consumer engagement. In early 2022, he was promoted to senior executive vice president of Gucci, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the brand’s strategy and organization.

By appointing Triefus as the managing director of Gucci Vault and Metaverse Ventures, Gucci is demonstrating its commitment to leading in digital innovation and embracing emerging technologies. With Triefus at the helm, the brand is expected to capitalize on opportunities in the gaming and Web3 sectors, leveraging its strong brand presence and the popularity of its luxury products in the digital realm.
