Gucci Announces Grants for Chime for Change Campaign in 2022

Gucci recently announced the recipients of grants for its Chime for Change campaign in 2022, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to promoting global gender equality. Since its inception in 2013, the campaign has successfully raised over $19 million, which has been used to support various projects and advocacy efforts in 89 countries. These funds have positively impacted the lives of more than 630,000 girls and women and reached over 3 million family and community members.

This year, Gucci’s grants will focus on supporting organizations in Italy that combat gender-based violence and provide assistance to women survivors. Some of the notable beneficiaries include Associazione Artemisia, Beawarenow, Casa Internazionale delle Donne, and SvS Donna Aiuta Donna with Cascina Ri-Nascita. By directing its resources towards these initiatives, Gucci aligns itself with UN Women’s Generation Equality Action Coalitions and contributes to the overall goal of achieving gender equality.

In addition to its efforts in Italy, Gucci is also partnering with Mothers2mothers, an organization dedicated to improving healthcare services for women and children in Ghana. Mothers2mothers accomplishes this by recruiting, training, and employing women living with HIV as essential frontline health workers. Furthermore, Gucci will support Promundo, a Brazilian non-governmental organization that focuses on engaging men and boys in advocating for gender equality.

Gucci’s commitment extends beyond these new partnerships, as it will continue to support its existing partners from 2021, including Equality Now, the Global Fund for Women, the Ms. Foundation for Women, and The Meteor, a collective of journalists, artists, and activists. This collaboration demonstrates Gucci’s determination to drive meaningful change in advancing the cause of gender equality.

To complement the grants announcement, Gucci has also released the latest issue of Chime Zine, a curated collection of works from various contributors. The publication delves into important topics such as the stigma surrounding fatness, the global movement for racial justice, queer culture in Taiwan and South Korea, and the role of women in the historic Indian farmers’ protest. The Chime Zine can be accessed digitally on Gucci Equilibrium, the brand’s platform for social impact and sustainability, and will be available in print later this month.

Overall, Gucci’s Chime for Change campaign continues to make a significant impact in promoting gender equality and supporting women and girls globally. Through its grants, partnerships, and publications like Chime Zine, Gucci actively works towards building a more inclusive and equitable future.
