Grosvenor Invests in Luxury Fashion Brand Roland Mouret

Grosvenor, the West End landlord, is taking steps to enhance its involvement with the businesses occupying its properties. In a significant move, it has acquired a minority stake in luxury fashion brand Roland Mouret, with the aim of helping the brand expand and thrive. This investment marks a first for Grosvenor Britain & Ireland in directly investing in one of its occupiers, reflecting its commitment to supporting its tenants.

Roland Mouret, a prominent player in the UK luxury fashion industry, established its flagship store in Mayfair’s Carlos Place in 2011. However, like many others in the sector, the brand has been greatly impacted by the ongoing pandemic. Store closures and event cancellations have posed significant challenges for the formal luxury fashion sector. Grosvenor’s investment seeks to provide a boost for Roland Mouret, opening doors for growth in new business categories.

James Raynor, the CEO of Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, expressed his excitement about the investment, emphasizing Roland Mouret’s long-standing position as a leader in British fashion. He highlighted the importance of the brand’s agile omnichannel strategy, which is coordinated from its base in Mayfair. Raynor described Grosvenor’s Tenant Investment Fund as a valuable tool for providing growth financing to robust businesses with clear diversification strategies. Currently, the fund is managing transactions worth £5 million, demonstrating the high demand for innovative support from both existing and new retail and hospitality concepts.

Mark Langthorne, the CEO of Roland Mouret, commended Grosvenor for its support of the local area during these challenging times. He also acknowledged the shared values between the two entities, expressing confidence in the partnership’s ability to contribute to the brand’s plans for future growth.

Grosvenor’s investment in Roland Mouret exemplifies its commitment to not only being a landlord but also a strategic partner to the businesses in its portfolio. By providing financial support and fostering growth opportunities, Grosvenor aims to strengthen the brands within its properties and contribute to the vibrancy of the West End as a whole. This approach reflects the company’s dedication to building thriving communities in the areas where it operates.
