Golden Goose: Sponsoring Atlante Arena and IPO Announcement

Italian luxury sneaker brand Golden Goose is making significant strides in both the sports and financial arenas. The brand recently announced its sponsorship of the Atlante Arena padel pavilion, set to open in Milan in late 2024. Padel, a fast-growing racquet sport similar to tennis, is gaining popularity worldwide, and Golden Goose is embracing its community and history by creating a dedicated space for players and fans.

The Atlante Arena, located in Milan’s CityLife district, known for its green spaces and sports facilities, will feature state-of-the-art padel courts and a retail concept by Golden Goose. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to explore an exclusive range of sneakers, apparel, and specialized padel equipment. Golden Goose’s co-design service, which allows customers to customize their products, will also be available.

To ensure the success of the Atlante Arena and expand its reach globally, Golden Goose has partnered with Demetrio Albertini and Lorenzo Alfieri, two prominent figures in the Italian and international padel scene. Albertini and Alfieri, founders of the renowned padel club City Padel Milano, bring their expertise and passion for the sport to create an exceptional padel pavilion experience.

In another significant development, Golden Goose has chosen Bank of America, Mediobanca, JPMorgan, and UBS as joint global coordinators for its planned initial public offering (IPO) on the Milan Stock Exchange in 2024. This move comes after private equity firm Permira acquired Golden Goose in 2020. The brand’s strong performance, evidenced by a 16% increase in revenue in Q3 2023 compared to the previous year, has positioned it for further growth.

Golden Goose’s impressive revenue growth is evident, with a 39.5% rise in fiscal 2022, amounting to €387.27 million. Gross operating profit has also seen a significant increase of 60%, totaling €160.4 million. However, net profit experienced a slight decline of 13%, reaching €76.9 million. The company has also been expanding its workforce, with employee numbers increasing from 303 to 377 in 2022.

Apart from its financial achievements, Golden Goose is also excited to offer a unique digital experience for the Atlante Arena through its partnership with the padel app WeSmash. The pavilion will include six indoor courts, including one indoor Pro court, as well as two vintage-style outdoor courts. Cutting-edge technology will enhance the playing experience, while a second-floor lounge area will provide spectators with an excellent view of the courts.

The design of the Atlante Arena goes beyond being a sports facility; it incorporates various elements of health, personal care, beauty, sustainability, and nutrition. Golden Goose aims to create a holistic experience for players and visitors, both before and after matches. Additionally, the outdoor area of the Arena will serve as a space for hosting special events, fostering a sense of community.

Golden Goose’s venture into the world of padel and its upcoming IPO exemplify the brand’s commitment to growth and innovation. As the company continues to expand its presence in the sports and luxury markets, its unique aesthetic and dedication to quality are sure to resonate with consumers. The Atlante Arena and the Star sneakers line are just a testament to Golden Goose’s ongoing pursuit of excellence.
