Glamorous Fashion and Elegance Return to the Oscars Red Carpet

The past year has been incredibly challenging for Hollywood’s biggest stars. With the pandemic forcing the cancellation of in-person events, celebrities had to adapt to a new way of accepting awards from the comfort of their own homes. However, at this year’s Oscars red carpet, they finally had the opportunity to showcase their glamorous fashion once again.

Traditionally, women have always been known for bringing their A-game when it comes to red carpet fashion. This year, however, the men also stepped up their style game. Taking inspiration from Billy Porter’s iconic tuxedo gown from two years ago, the men brought a sense of elegance and flair to the event.

The Oscars red carpet was a highly anticipated event, marking the first major fashion gathering in Tinseltown since the start of the pandemic. It provided a glimpse of normalcy in the world of fashion and entertainment.

One standout on the red carpet was Leslie Odom Jr., who received double Oscar nominations for Best Supporting Actor and Best Original Song for his work in “One Night in Miami.” He shone like the coveted golden statuette itself in a shimmering double-breasted Brioni suit. Another notable mention goes to Daniel Kaluuya, who won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role in “Judas and the Black Messiah.” He opted for an all-black ensemble from Bottega Veneta, looking sleek in a tuxedo paired with a stylish t-shirt.

Colman Domingo, known for his role alongside Viola Davis and the late Chadwick Boseman in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” injected a burst of color into the red carpet with his head-to-toe hot pink outfit. Paul Raci, another Best Supporting Actor nominee for his work in “Sound of Metal,” added his own personal touch to his black suit with statement silver jewelry and dark nail polish.

While the men brought their fashion A-game, the women also brought a touch of glamour to the red carpet. Carey Mulligan, nominated for Best Actress for her role in “Promising Young Woman,” looked radiant in a strapless golden gown with a revealing midriff and a flowing train. Andra Day, also nominated in the same category for her portrayal of Billie Holiday in “The United States vs Billie Holiday,” took a daring approach with a stunning gold gown featuring a bold cutout in the middle and a thigh-high slit.

Viola Davis, another Best Actress nominee, made a statement in a low-cut white sleeveless Alexander McQueen gown with enticing cutouts. Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova, a first-time nominee for Best Supporting Actress, opted for a pristine white Louis Vuitton princess gown with a plunging neckline and a voluminous tulle skirt.

While many attendees opted for classic colors like white, black, or muted hues, some actresses brought a blast of color to the red carpet. Halle Berry, an Oscar winner herself and a presenter at the event, debuted a fresh short hairstyle and rocked a strapless flowing purple gown. Angela Bassett, another presenter, turned heads in a vibrant red gown with a front slit and dramatic puffed sleeves that formed a bow in the back.

The Oscars red carpet was a much-anticipated and long-awaited event. After a year of virtual gatherings and casual attire, Hollywood’s stars once again flaunted their impeccable style and reminded us of the glamour and elegance that define the red carpet experience.
