Givenchy Launches Voice Over Challenge with #IAmYourMirror

A few days ago, we discussed how ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) has the potential to captivate the luxury world. The phenomenon has already caught the attention of Givenchy, as they search for their new voiceover. They have introduced #IAmYourMirror, their luxury take on ASMR.

The story began a few weeks ago with the release of Givenchy’s Spring/Summer 2019 campaign, titled “I Am Your Mirror.” Led by creative director Clare Waight Keller and photographer Steven Meisel, the black and white video showcases a selection of mantras, such as “I just do what I want to do,” recited by various voiceovers. The footage is accompanied by close-ups of food items, such as grapes, a banana, and an apple, with each texture emphasized through amplified sounds. These sounds include the rustling of a caress on an armchair, the crunch of a bitten apple, and the click of a belt buckle or metal chain. These ASMR-specific codes aim to stimulate a sensory reaction, particularly through the sense of touch.

Givenchy is on the hunt for their voice and #IAmYourMirror has inspired them to launch a contest. The Voice Over Challenge, which started on April 2nd, encourages internet users to record their voice synchronized with a video from the campaign, lasting less than 30 seconds. Participants can easily record their entry directly on Givenchy’s website, using the microphone on their phone or computer. The contest will run until April 7th at midnight, with four winners set to be chosen. The selected vocal sequences will be unveiled on April 10th and published on Givenchy’s official Instagram account (@givenchyofficial) as well as on their Weibo account.
