Givenchy Atelier: Redefining Ready-to-Wear with Couture Excellence

The Parisian Couture House, Givenchy, is making waves in the fashion industry with its latest line, Givenchy Atelier. This new Ready-to-Wear (RTW) collection, also known as Haute-Couture PAP, applies the traditional codes of excellence seen in Haute-Couture to ready-to-wear pieces. Claire Wright Keller, the Artistic Director of Givenchy, has taken on the challenge of creating a unique collection with Givenchy Atelier.

Designed as a tribute to the highly skilled artisans working in the house’s Parisian ateliers, some of whom have a history with Monsieur Givenchy himself, the Givenchy Atelier collection showcases predominantly black and white silhouettes. This deliberate color scheme aims to create a timeless and distinct style. The garments feature cuts that lean more towards an “executive” look rather than the typical sportswear style, exuding a sleek and elegant aesthetic. Signature touches of “couture” elements, including oversized bows, meticulous appliqués, delicate lace, and pleated balloon sleeves, add a subtle twist to the outfits. The attention to detail is remarkable, as each piece in the collection is handcrafted in Givenchy’s Parisian ateliers. The collection is positioned as a luxury capsule collection, catering to a select clientele.

Givenchy Atelier seeks to appeal to consumers who appreciate timeless classics that can be worn throughout the seasons. It offers a lower price point compared to the Haute-Couture segment, making it more accessible to those who value the technical and creative excellence of a luxury fashion house. This collection targets a niche market of fashion enthusiasts who prioritize quality over fast fashion.

The autumn capsule collection of Givenchy Atelier was launched on October 15th, with availability online for the men’s collection and in select Givenchy boutiques and partner stores. To further showcase the collection, an exclusive pop-up store is currently being presented at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann.
