German Textile Discounter Takko Fashion Appoints Martino Pessina as CEO

German textile discounter Takko Fashion has announced the appointment of Martino Pessina as its new CEO. Pessina, formerly the chief commercial officer for Danish jewellery manufacturer Pandora, brings with him 20 years of experience in the fashion and jewellery sector.

Before his time at Pandora, Pessina held various management roles at H&M, including president of North America. In this position, he oversaw operations in the United States and achieved sales of over four billion dollars. Pessina holds a Master of Science in International Business Management from Bocconi University in Milan.

Pessina expressed his enthusiasm about joining Takko Fashion and is looking forward to working with his new colleagues to further develop the brand. Dirk Van den Berghe, chairman of the advisory board, commended Pessina’s expertise in the fashion and non-food sector, as well as his ability to formulate profitable growth strategies. Van den Berghe believes that Pessina’s understanding of the European fashion value retail segment will enable him to successfully expand Takko’s Quality Discount business model.

Takko Fashion, headquartered in Telgte, Germany, is a leading retailer in the European fashion market. Known for providing high-quality fashion at affordable prices, Takko has gained a strong foothold in Germany and several other European countries. With over 1,800 stores and more than 18,000 employees, the company has established itself as a significant player in the industry.

Pessina’s appointment as CEO follows the departure of Tjeerd Jegen, who recently joined Dutch bicycle manufacturer Accell. With his extensive experience and proven track record, Pessina is expected to be a valuable asset to the Takko Fashion leadership team. The company looks to his expertise to continue its success and further solidify its position in the European market.
