Ganni Opens Sixth Store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Copenhagen-based fashion label Ganni has opened its sixth store in the United States, this time in the vibrant Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. Located at 113 N. 7th Street, the store offers Ganni’s popular ready-to-wear clothing and accessories. This is the brand’s second location in New York, with the first one opening in SoHo in October 2019.

The design of the Williamsburg store takes inspiration from the SoHo location, featuring a mix of bold primary colors and soft pastels, as well as upcycled and recycled furnishings. To give it a local touch, Ganni collaborated with Brooklyn-based artist Didi Rojas, who adorned the space with her first-ever mural and a ceramic sculpture of the brand’s bestselling lug-sole boots.

To mark the opening of the store, Ganni hosted a celebratory party at Nightmoves in Williamsburg on July 22. The event was attended by notable figures in the fashion and entertainment industry, including Paloma Elsesser, Princess Nokia, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, Didi Rojas, and Kim Nguyen from Nguyen Inc. Nguyen collaborated with Ganni to create a limited-edition t-shirt featuring a reimagined design of the classic “I heart NY” logo.

Ganni was originally founded by gallerist Frans Truelsen in 2000 but was later acquired by Nicolaj and Ditte Reffstrup in 2009. Nicolaj serves as the brand’s CEO, while Ditte is the creative director. Since taking over, the Reffstrups have built a dedicated following for Ganni and attracted the attention of LVMH-backed investment fund L Catterton, which acquired a 51% stake in the company in 2017.

With 27 stores worldwide and stocked by over 600 global retailers, Ganni is rapidly expanding its presence and catering to its growing fan base. The opening of the Brooklyn store in Williamsburg is another milestone for the brand as it solidifies its status as a global fashion icon.
