French Fashion House Jacquemus Appoints First-Ever CEO

French fashion house Jacquemus has announced the appointment of its first-ever CEO from outside the company, marking a significant move for the brand. Previously, the brand was solely led by its founder and creative director, Simon Porte Jacquemus. The new CEO, Bastien Daguzan, brings a wealth of experience from his previous role as CEO at Paco Rabanne Mode for five years.

Daguzan, a 38-year-old manager from southwest France, studied international business law at La Sorbonne in Paris before specializing in design and luxury at the Institut Français de la Mode. He began his career in the fashion industry in 2008 at Kris Van Assche, where he worked as the sales and development director for five years. In 2013, he joined Lemaire as the managing director, playing a crucial role in the brand’s collaboration with Uniqlo, which significantly boosted the label’s value.

In March 2017, Daguzan took the helm of Paco Rabanne’s fashion division, successfully repositioning the brand and focusing on direct-to-consumer distribution. Under his leadership, the company experienced staggering growth and expanded its network of multi-brand retailers. He also played a key role in the launch of Pacollection, the brand’s first perfume line.

The appointment of Daguzan as CEO of Jacquemus signifies the company’s strategic move towards a more structured and organized approach to its growth and development. In recent months, the brand has embarked on various projects, including a fashion show in Hawaii, the opening of vending machine pop-up stores, and an upcoming collaboration with Nike. Additionally, the brand is set to launch a beauty line in partnership with Spain’s Puig Group, the owner of Paco Rabanne.

Jacquemus, founded by Simon Porte Jacquemus in 2009, has gained widespread acclaim for its cheerful and colorful designs. The brand’s accessories, such as its mini bags and oversized straw hats, have become iconic pieces. With a strong presence on Instagram and a notable celebrity clientele, including Rihanna and the Hadid sisters, Jacquemus has established itself as a prominent player in the fashion industry. With approximately 100 employees and a turnover of around 25 million euros, the brand offers a range of products, including ready-to-wear, accessories, and jewelry for both men and women.
