French Fashion Brand Paul & Joe Makes Comeback to Paris Fashion Week

French fashion brand Paul & Joe, founded by entrepreneur Sophie Mechaly in 1995, is making a comeback to Paris Fashion Week after showcasing in London for the past few years. Mechaly explains that while the opportunity to show in London was incredible, it was time to return to their home country and city. This decision was not solely driven by economic reasons, as the company has been successful, but also because Mechaly wanted a change.

On September 29, the brand will present its women’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection in the enchanting setting of the Hôtel de la Bûcherie, a historical building dating back to the Middle Ages in Paris’ 5th arrondissement. Mechaly wanted to break away from the fast-paced nature of traditional fashion shows and create a more relaxed and magical atmosphere for customers, press, and fans to discover the collection.

One of the aspects that sets Paul & Joe apart is their commitment to working with workshops in France for various stages of their manufacturing process, including embroidery, bouclette, and manufacturing. Mechaly believes that collaborating closely with these experts, who also work with top luxury brands, allows them to showcase their work with meticulous attention to detail and cultivate trust and loyalty over the past 28 years. By producing limited series of 200 to 400 pieces with suppliers in France and Europe, the brand can differentiate themselves from competitors and has experienced a 20% growth in sales since the beginning of the year.

In addition to their sales growth, Paul & Joe benefits from multiple licenses worldwide. Mechaly has also launched her own brand, Boys don’t cry, which offers designer brands for men and serves as a new avenue for growth for the label.

The return to Paris Fashion Week and the unique presentation of the Spring/Summer 2023 collection at the Hôtel de la Bûcherie showcase Paul & Joe’s dedication to highlighting their craftsmanship, fostering loyalty, and continuing their expansion in the fashion industry.
