French Brand WOP Making Waves in Fashion Industry

French ready-to-wear brand WOP, also known as World of Pop, is making a significant impact in the fashion industry. Founded by four former executives of Kidiliz, a prominent French childrenswear group, WOP is ready to exhibit its collection at the upcoming Pitti Bimbo childrenswear show in Florence from January 18-20. Following this, the brand will participate in the Who’s Next trade show in Paris from January 21-23.

Since its launch in May, WOP has garnered recognition within the industry. In July, the label showcased its collection at the Playtime Paris trade show, captivating over 20 retailers across France, Asia, and Europe. The founders of WOP – Anne Vessière, Guillaume La Barbera, Laetitia Orlandi, and Éloise Pulby – met while working at Kidiliz and came together to create something new when the company went bankrupt and was dismantled two years ago. The result of their collaboration is WOP, a vibrant and sustainable unisex urban label for both adults and children.

WOP’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its manufacturing process. The brand produces its products in Portugal, Turkey, and Morocco, utilizing eco-friendly materials like organic cotton, recycled polyester, and Ecovero viscose sourced from sustainable forests. Additionally, WOP has joined the 1% for the Planet initiative, promising to donate 1% of its sales to environmental associations.

A core principle of WOP’s philosophy is to make sustainable fashion affordable and fair for everyone involved. Through a fair pricing policy, the brand ensures that all stakeholders in the creative process receive equitable remuneration. Starting at prices as low as €29 for t-shirts, €49 for shirts, and €59 for sweatshirts, WOP offers high-quality sustainable fashion at an accessible price point.

WOP’s upcoming Spring/Summer 2023 collection promises to be extraordinary. The collection showcases a printed design highlighting endangered animal species, like the orangutan, set against a backdrop of vibrant vegetation. This bold and captivating design embodies WOP’s creativity and dedication to raising awareness about environmental conservation.

As WOP continues to gain traction in the industry, its participation in the Pitti Bimbo and Who’s Next trade shows will provide a platform for wider exposure and potential collaborations. With its sustainable approach and unique design aesthetic, WOP is poised to establish a lasting impact on the fashion world.
