Former ASOS CEO Named Chairman of Secret Sales

Former ASOS CEO Nick Beighton has reportedly been named as the new chairman of Secret Sales, an off-price e-tailer. Secret Sales has seen impressive growth, with sales soaring by over 150% in the past year. Led by retail entrepreneurs Chris Griffin and Matt Purt, the company has established itself as a popular platform for high-end brands looking to sell excess inventory while maintaining control over pricing and branding.

Beighton, who departed from ASOS last year after more than a decade with the company, has praised Secret Sales for its innovative approach to handling surplus stock. He hailed it as a “game-changing” solution that doesn’t rely on traditional clearance channels, which can devalue a brand. Instead, Secret Sales offers a straightforward, sophisticated, and sustainable off-price solution that doesn’t undermine the retailer’s full-price strategy.

Secret Sales has been expanding its reach internationally, having already launched in Belgium and the Netherlands. The company has plans to enter 12 additional markets within the next two years. CEO Chris Griffin envisions Secret Sales becoming the largest marketplace worldwide for non-full-price fashion.

While an official announcement regarding Beighton’s appointment is expected later this week, it is likely that his extensive experience in the fashion industry will significantly contribute to Secret Sales’ ongoing growth and success.
