Flannels Making Progress on New Store in Nottingham’s Lister Gate

Luxury multibrand retailer Flannels, a subsidiary of the Frasers Group, is making progress in its plans to open a store in Nottingham’s Lister Gate. The company has recently submitted plans for a new store front at 11-13 Lister Gate, which was formerly occupied by a River Island store. Although initial work on clearing the site had faced delays, it is now moving forward. However, it is uncertain whether Flannels’ existing Nottingham store on Bridlesmith Gate will continue operating once the Lister Gate venue is up and running.

This development is particularly significant for Lister Gate, which has faced challenges since the closure and ongoing demolition of the Broadmarsh shopping centre. The 20-acre area is currently undergoing a £500 million redevelopment project to create a combined shopping centre and leisure park.

Flannels has been successful in expanding its retail presence, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. The company has made significant investments in opening large-scale stores in prominent city centers nationwide, currently operating nearly 60 stores. In June, Flannels launched its largest store to date in Liverpool, spanning seven floors and covering 120,000 square feet. This flagship store has been hailed as “revolutionary” and “groundbreaking”. Moreover, Flannels has opened new stores in Preston, Romford, Brighton, Southampton, Leicester, Birmingham, and Belfast over the past two years.

The submission of plans for the Lister Gate store showcases Flannels’ ongoing dedication to expanding its reach and providing luxury retail experiences in strategic locations.
