Finalists Unveiled for LUXE PACK in Green Award

Among the numerous applications received from exhibitors at the LUXE PACK MONACO trade show in their pursuit of winning the prestigious LUXE PACK in Green award, the five finalists have finally been unveiled. The LUXE PACK in Green award recognizes and celebrates excellence in sustainable packaging. After a year of virtual events due to the global pandemic, Luxe Pack Monaco is making a comeback. The 34th edition of the trade show will be held at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, welcoming packaging experts to showcase the finest luxury product packaging.

The event presents various awards, including the highly coveted “LUXE PACK in Green” prize. This award aims to highlight the best sustainable packaging innovations and practices within the industry. By establishing this award, the organizers hope to encourage packaging experts to adopt more responsible solutions while addressing the growing concerns of consumers about eco-design.

In the “Eco-designed Packaging Solutions” category, five outstanding finalists have been chosen:

1. ALBEA – “Mono-material tube & cap”:
Albéa has designed the first tube and cap made of extruded plastic that is recyclable in Europe. The cap’s unique design allows the tube to stand upright on a shelf, and its lightweight construction minimizes plastic usage. This packaging is specifically tailored for perfumes, cosmetics, and personal care products.

2. ESTAL – “Rude collection”:
Estal incorporates up to 100% recycled glass in its production process and embraces slight imperfections through a distinct design language, particularly in terms of glass colors.

3. FAREVA – “Chromavis”:
Chromavis presents a makeup packaging concept that eliminates plastic and simplifies assembly steps. After the product is used, the packaging can be disassembled into recyclable or inert pieces.

4. QUADPACK – “Woodacity”:
Woodacity is a patented system that offers a range of wooden cap designs for cosmetic packaging. Until now, incorporating wood as a component in beauty product packaging without a plastic insert had been extremely challenging. After two years of research, Woodacity introduces three unique designs, all manufactured in Europe.

5. POCHET – “Odyssée”:
Odyssée represents the first rechargeable and portable glass solution that is eco-designed. It combines a case and a glass refill made from virtuous materials. The refill can be sealed with its own cap, ensuring lightweight, portable, and airtight properties.

The jury comprises five professionals, including Sandrine Sommer, Director of CSR and Sustainable Development at Moët-Hennessy, Jacques Playe, Global Head of Packaging and Product Development at L’Oréal, and Helene Villecroze, Eco-design Manager at Chanel Parfums Beauté. Recognizing the role of consumers as agents of change, they are invited to participate in the voting process to determine the most innovative packaging solution.

The winner will be announced, and the awards will be presented on Monday, September 27th, marking a significant moment in the recognition and promotion of sustainable packaging within the luxury industry.
