Filippa K Unveils New Amsterdam Flagship Store

Filippa K, the renowned Swedish fashion brand known for its simplistic and elegant designs, has recently unveiled its newest addition in Amsterdam. Situated at PC Hooftstraat 125, the flagship store marks another milestone in the brand’s journey of transformation under the guidance of Creative Director Liisa Kessler.

Emulating the success of Filippa K’s previous endeavor in Helsinki, where the brand collaborated with architecture firm Profan to revamp the store’s physical representation, the team once again joined forces to bring their vision to life in the heart of the Netherlands. The Amsterdam store mirrors the sophisticated aesthetic seen in the Helsinki flagship, ensuring a consistent brand identity.

One of the standout elements of the new store is its captivating icy blue color scheme. Intending to evoke the misty landscapes of Nordic countries that served as inspiration for Kessler’s initial brand campaign, this hue dominates the space. The flooring, crafted from clay, was achieved through a meticulous pigment dye process, guaranteeing a unique and immersive experience for visitors. Complementing this aesthetic, the clothing rails in the store are made of chrome and boast subtle distortions in their form, mimicking reflections on the surface of water. This aquatic theme extends to the shelving and tables, featuring mirrored tops that enhance the overall ambiance.

To infuse a touch of vintage charm into the store, Filippa K has incorporated a curated selection of commissioned works from various artists, designers, and artisans. Notably, the changing room space on the ground floor showcases tapestries made from leftover yarns from past Filippa K collections. Designed by Swedish artist Micael de Leeuw, these tapestries add an artistic flair while exemplifying the brand’s commitment to sustainable practices.

Spread across two floors, the flagship store is designed to cater to both men and women. The ground floor is dedicated to showcasing Filippa K’s womenswear collection and core pieces, while the upper floor presents the menswear collection along with other essential products. Additionally, the upper floor boasts a terrace that overlooks a small garden, providing a serene and tranquil environment for shoppers.

Beyond its striking appearance, Filippa K’s Amsterdam flagship store is a testament to the brand’s dedication to sustainability. By incorporating recycled materials and collaborating with local artists, Filippa K promotes creativity, craftsmanship, and environmental responsibility.

This meticulously designed space is guaranteed to attract both local shoppers and fashion enthusiasts on the lookout for an exceptional retail experience. Whether you’re seeking timeless pieces for your wardrobe or simply aiming to immerse yourself in the brand’s aesthetic, a visit to Filippa K’s new Amsterdam flagship store is highly recommended.
