Fendi’s Scented ‘Baguette’ Bag Collaboration with Francis Kurkdjian

Fendi has embraced a new level of luxury with the introduction of their scented ‘Baguette’ bag, a collaboration with renowned perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. Originally launched in 1997, the iconic ‘Baguette’ bag has seen numerous updates throughout the years, but this scented version marks a unique milestone in its history. Partnering with Francis Kurkdjian, a brand under the LVMH Group since 2017, Fendi has created a truly innovative accessory.

In 2014, Francis Kurkdjian revolutionized the art of perfuming leather by developing a groundbreaking patented technique. This technique allows fragrances to be infused directly into leather, resulting in a scent that lasts for years. For the ‘Fendi Frenesia’ scent, Kurkdjian combined notes of leather and musk with Iris to capture the essence of Fendi’s signature Selleria leather known for its luxurious texture.

The process of embedding the scent into the leather structure of the Baguette bag ensures that the fragrance remains for up to three years. Additionally, customers can enjoy the Frenesia perfume in a convenient 5ml bottle for personal use or a scent card that can be placed inside the bag to maintain its aromatic presence. Available on Fendi’s e-commerce site, the scented Baguette bags, which include the mini-Baguette bag and Frenesia perfume, are priced at €450.

To commemorate the launch, Fendi collaborated with Canadian photographer Christelle Boulé to visually capture the essence of the fragrance. Using a unique technique, Boulé infused silver photo paper with the Frenesia perfume to create a distinct imprint that mirrors the scent. Limited to just 20 pieces (10 for men and 10 for women), these special edition scented Baguette bags were exclusively available at the Fendi store in Miami during Art Basel Miami.

Francis Kurkdjian shared his enthusiasm for the partnership with Fendi, emphasizing his dedication to modernizing traditional techniques for a shared vision of innovation and craftsmanship. This collaboration represents a union of two worlds—luxury fashion and high-end fragrance—showcasing a commitment to excellence and creativity in the industry.
