Fendi Launches Pop-Up Store in New York City

Fendi, the luxury fashion brand, is honoring its iconic accessory, the Fendi Baguette, by launching a pop-up store in New York City. This distinctive bag gained fame through its appearances on the hit TV show, Sex and the City, and is now celebrating its 25th anniversary with a special winter capsule collection. The dedicated pop-up can be found in Soho at 90 Prince Street, sharing the same space as the Fendace pop-up.

To showcase the winter collection, both the storefront and interior of the pop-up have been completely transformed with colors reminiscent of the collection, including wasabi green, baby pink, and glossy blue. Visitors will be greeted with oversized replicas of the Baguette, adding a playful touch to the space. Another exciting feature is the digital archive room, where the highly sought-after Re-edition Baguettes are displayed alongside digital Baguette content. These archive editions boast unique designs made from various materials like denim, cashmere, shearling, mother-of-pearl leather, and are embroidered with geometric beads and sequins. These special editions pay homage to the iconic hot pink Baguette that Carrie Bradshaw famously carried in the SATC episode where it was stolen from her.

Aside from the Baguette replicas, the pop-up also offers a wide range of Baguettes in different sizes, making them the perfect holiday gift. These bags will be showcased alongside fashion jewelry and small accessories. In addition, the winter capsule collection expands to include men’s and women’s ready-to-wear items like parkas, gaiters, gloves, hats, skirts, and sweaters, all featuring the signature Baguette design. To add even more holiday dazzle, the brand has also launched a sparkly heel called the Colibri, just in time for festive holiday dressing.

New York City was selected as the location for the pop-up due to its significant role in shaping the Baguette bag phenomenon. Silvia Venturini Fendi created the bag in 1997 and named it after the famous French bread often seen being carried over the shoulder. In September, Fendi held a fashion show in New York City, where artistic directors Kim Jones, Silvia Venturini Fendi, and Delfina Delettrez Fendi collaborated with Marc Jacobs to commemorate the bag’s 25th anniversary.

Following a recent trend among luxury brands, Fendi’s pop-up store focuses solely on the Baguette and its exclusive designs. Just a week before Fendi’s pop-up, Louis Vuitton also launched a store dedicated to its new Sparkle pump. Fendi’s pop-up will remain open throughout the holiday season until December 23, giving customers the opportunity to indulge in the iconic Baguette bag and other unique offerings.
