Fendi appoints new manager for its French subsidiary

Fendi, the high-end fashion brand under the ownership of the LVMH group, is undergoing changes within its European division. The luxury house has appointed a new manager for its French subsidiary, with Alessandra Basso taking on the role. Basso, who previously oversaw Fendi’s operations in Italy and Spain, will now assume the position of general manager for the French market.

This appointment comes as Leslie Serrero, who had been with the luxury group for a decade and also worked for Dior, makes a move to spirits firm CKBG as international managing director. Serrero’s departure signifies a significant shift within Fendi’s management team.

Despite the changes, Basso will continue to oversee the Spanish market, leveraging her expertise in managing international markets. Meanwhile, Andrea Rigogliosi, Europe president of Fendi, will temporarily take charge of the Italian market. Rigogliosi joined Fendi in the previous year following an eight-year tenure at Christian Dior. These moves highlight Fendi’s efforts to strengthen its teams, particularly within Europe.

Alessandra Basso is well-suited for her new role, boasting an educational background in economics and a Masters from the London Business School. Her career began at Deloitte, where she gained experience in various roles before transitioning into the industrial sector as a marketing and communications manager. Basso later shifted her focus to the luxury sector and joined Fendi in 2014, contributing to the brand’s growth and success.

Overall, Fendi’s appointment of Alessandra Basso reflects the brand’s commitment to reinforcing its European division and sustaining its positive momentum. With her extensive experience and expertise, Basso is expected to bring a fresh perspective and drive further growth for Fendi in the French market.
