Fast Retailing Announces Opening Date for Uniqlo-Theory Combo Store in Europe

Fast Retailing has finally announced the opening date for the highly awaited Uniqlo-Theory combo store in Europe. Located on the iconic Regent Street in London, the store is set to open its doors on April 21, which marks a significant milestone for the company. This will be the first time that both Uniqlo, known for its popular fashion basics, and the more upscale Theory label will be housed in the same location in Europe.

The decision to combine these two brands in one store came after Fast Retailing acquired the former Superdry flagship store on Regent Street. As a result, Uniqlo had to relocate from its previous location on the opposite side of the street to accommodate the new store. The new store boasts a spacious 1,900 square meters (20,500 square feet) spread across three floors, providing ample space for shoppers to explore and discover their favorite fashion pieces.

For Fast Retailing Chairman, President, and CEO Tadashi Yanai, this move holds a special significance. Regent Street and the United Kingdom have played an essential role in the company’s expansion beyond its home market in Japan since 2001. Over the past two decades, Fast Retailing has established itself as a global apparel retailer and now operates several stores in the UK alone. The company’s commitment to Regent Street reflects its recognition of the area’s importance in the fashion industry.

Regent Street has emerged as a prime location for international brands, boasting a thriving retail scene even in the face of the pandemic. The street has seen a surge in new store openings, including renowned brands like Bally, Fabletics, and Gymshark, among others. In contrast, nearby Oxford Street has faced greater challenges in bouncing back from the impact of the pandemic, making Regent Street an even more desirable destination for fashion enthusiasts and shoppers alike.

The upcoming opening of the Uniqlo-Theory combo store on Regent Street has sparked anticipation among fashion enthusiasts. The store’s unique combination of affordable fashion basics from Uniqlo and the more upscale offerings from Theory aims to cater to a diverse range of customers, providing them with a distinctive and enjoyable shopping experience. As Fast Retailing expands its presence in Europe, this new store serves as a testament to the company’s dedication to delivering innovative and high-quality fashion options to consumers.
