Fashion Takes Center Stage at Brand Licensing Europe 2022

Fashion will play a prominent role at the upcoming Brand Licensing Europe 2022 (BLE) exhibition, scheduled to take place at Excel London from September 20-22. This global event, dedicated to the licensing industry, will embrace fashion in a significant way, offering daily catwalk fashion shows that will be live-streamed. Alongside the fashion shows, attendees can expect a futuristic fashion keynote and displays of tactile, inspirational products.

The exhibition will feature a series of ten 15-minute fashion shows, each emphasizing a specific licensing category. These categories include collaborations, footwear, sports & athleisure, kids, sustainability, culture & the world, and food & beverage. Audiences will be able to watch the shows through live streaming on screens positioned throughout the venue, including the central visitor boulevard and the outdoor West Podium screen.

BLE is providing brand owners with various options to participate in the fashion shows during the three-day event. Those designated as “Platinum” brands will enjoy the spotlight with exclusive control over a 15-minute show, from selecting the music and models to determining the overall aesthetic. For Platinum brands, three sponsored options are available. Meanwhile, “Gold” brands will have the opportunity to own a five-minute segment within a category theme of their choice and will have input into the soundtrack for their catwalk showcase. There are 20 sponsored options available for Gold brands.

In addition to the fashion shows, the exhibition will integrate the fashion theme throughout its venues. High-end product showcases will be situated near the catwalk and at the main entrances, showcasing products that have been featured in the catwalk shows. Moreover, the License Global Theatre at BLE will offer sessions and keynotes dedicated to fashion.

Returning to BLE is the “Products of Change” initiative, which aims to communicate the importance of sustainability in fashion. This initiative strives to spark discussions and inspire action within the licensing industry.

Anna Knight, the Senior Vice President of Licensing at Informa Markets, the organizer of the event, expressed her enthusiasm for the fashion-themed BLE. Knight acknowledged that the pandemic had hindered the possibility of a fashion-focused exhibition in previous years but emphasized that fashion is currently of great significance in various aspects, including design, supply chains, diversity, ethics, and sustainability. She emphasized the dynamic and exciting nature of the fashion industry, highlighting the boundless opportunities for brands to create an impact and vice versa.

With fashion taking center stage at Brand Licensing Europe 2022, the exhibition promises to be a thrilling platform for the licensing industry to discuss, inspire, and showcase the dynamic and interconnected realms of fashion and brands.
