Fashion Minority Report Launches The Hub

Fashion Minority Report, a prominent advocate for diversity and inclusion in the fashion industry, has recently introduced a groundbreaking platform called The Hub. This platform has been created with the main aim of connecting young, diverse talent with renowned brands, in an effort to foster inclusivity not only in the fashion industry but also in the wider creative sector.

The launch of The Hub signifies a significant expansion in the activities of Fashion Minority Report. Previously, the organization worked primarily as a business consultancy, striving to promote diversity across the fashion sector. However, with the introduction of The Hub, Fashion Minority Report has shifted its focus to providing a platform for learning and career development.

The Hub, according to Fashion Minority Report, is designed to offer young talent various opportunities that will enable them to thrive in their chosen field. The platform addresses a practical challenge faced by brands – connecting with up-and-coming minority talent – by offering easily accessible digital and physical resources. These resources include insightful interviews with industry professionals, toolkits, guides, and directories.

One of the central goals of The Hub is to help young people understand how their professional skills and passions can be applied to a career in fashion or the creative sector. This is an invaluable resource, considering that studies have indicated that ethnically diverse talent accounts for only around 11% of roles in the creative sector, despite the fact that nearly 18% of the UK population is ethnically diverse.

Fashion Minority Report was established by Daniel Peters in 2020 with the mission to reshape the fashion industry and advocate for diversity and inclusion. To bring The Hub to life, the organization has forged partnerships with esteemed brands such as Farfetch, Browns Fashion, The British Fashion Council, John Lewis & Partners, and ASOS.

In emphasizing the importance of The Hub, Peters acknowledges the progress made in recognizing the challenges faced by minority talent in the fashion industry, but stresses the need for further advancement. He highlights that while 2020 marked the first time that the world, including the fashion industry, started acknowledging these challenges, there is still a distinct lack of representation in the creative sector. The Hub aims to bridge this gap by nurturing a future workforce of diverse industry leaders alongside their brand partners.

In conjunction with the launch of The Hub, Fashion Minority Report has also unveiled a Creative Change Makers campaign. This campaign showcases professionals from various backgrounds and disciplines who have achieved success within the industry. Through both The Hub and the Creative Change Makers campaign, Fashion Minority Report strives to create a fashion industry that is more inclusive and representative, celebrating diversity and providing equal opportunities for all aspiring talent.
