Fashion Label Jacquemus and CEO Bastien Daguzan Announce Sudden Separation

Fashion label Jacquemus and its CEO, Bastien Daguzan, have announced their sudden separation, just after Daguzan had been appointed to a new leadership role within the brand. This unexpected departure marks a significant change in Jacquemus’ leadership.

In early December, Bastien Daguzan was named the president of Jacquemus, a year and a half after he had joined as the general manager. This role was previously held by Simon Porte Jacquemus, the founder, owner, and creative director of the renowned brand.

However, shortly after the announcement, the decision was reversed, and the brand officially confirmed Daguzan’s departure. In a press release quoted by Business Of Fashion, the brand expressed gratitude for Daguzan’s contributions and wished him well in his future endeavors.

Daguzan, who expressed his gratitude to Simon Porte Jacquemus and described him as a great inspiration, joined the French brand in May 2022 and became its first-ever CEO, directly succeeding the founder. Prior to joining Jacquemus, Daguzan held the position of CEO at Paco Rabanne and Lemaire.

During Daguzan’s tenure, Jacquemus made significant strides in expanding its physical retail presence. The brand opened a flagship store on Avenue Montaigne, collaborated with Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, and launched various pop-up stores, including a unique bag-shaped ephemeral space in Seoul, South Korea. Recently, Jacquemus also opened its first-ever store in the ski resort of Courchevel.

Interestingly, this announcement comes shortly after Jacquemus revealed its plans to open a mountain boutique in Courchevel. The brand took to Twitter to share the store’s address and operating hours with its followers.

Overall, while the separation of Jacquemus and Bastien Daguzan may come as a surprise, the fashion brand continues to innovate and expand its retail presence in notable locations.
