Fashion jewellery brand tlke has secured £300k in funding from HSBC, with 80% of the funds guaranteed by UK Export Finance (UKEF). This funding comes after tlke had a successful year of trading, distributing high-quality, branded jewellery in the UK and Europe. The company works with renowned international brands and designers such as Ralph Lauren and DKNY, supplying retailers like House of Fraser, Fenwick, and Ernest Jones.
Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, tlke managed to maintain its major contracts and even expanded to 30 additional Ernest Jones stores. The support from UKEF was crucial in helping tlke navigate the difficulties brought about by the pandemic and avoid accumulating excessive debt to maintain relationships with suppliers.
Teresa Timberlake, founding partner at tlke, expressed her gratitude for the support from UKEF and expressed excitement about the future prospects and partnerships awaiting the company. Richard Gimblett, Area Director for Business Banking at HSBC UK, reiterated the bank’s commitment to aiding businesses during the pandemic and stated their intention to continue supporting tlke in its growth plans. The funding from HSBC UK, guaranteed by UKEF, will enable tlke to explore new partnerships and expand recruitment efforts.
Mike Freer MP, the Minister for Exports, commended tlke for its resilience and ability to continue selling British products worldwide during the festive period, despite the challenges posed by Covid-19.
