Fashion Brands Celebrate Pride Month with Vibrant Collections and Donations

Fashion brands are proudly showing their support for the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month by releasing collections adorned in vibrant rainbow colors. Not only do these collections celebrate Pride, but they also contribute to prominent LGBTQ+ organizations. Some notable brands that have joined in the celebration include Balenciaga, Dockers, Puma, Ralph Lauren, and Victoria Beckham.

Balenciaga’s Creative Director, Demna Gvasalia, has designed a collection that features baseball caps, t-shirts, and hoodies prominently displaying the words “Gay Pride Balenciaga 2021.” A generous 15% of the sales from this collection will be donated to The Trevor Project, a leading organization that provides suicide prevention and crisis intervention services for LGBTQ+ youth.

Victoria Beckham has launched her third consecutive Pride collection in partnership with the Albert Kennedy Trust (AKT), an organization dedicated to combating LGBTQ+ youth homelessness in the UK. All proceeds from Beckham’s collection will directly support AKT and its crucial work. Beckham expressed that Pride is a celebration of authenticity and highlighted the Spice Girls’ message of acceptance and kindness.

Puma has recruited supermodel Cara Delevingne for their Forever Free collection campaign, while Hugo Boss has introduced a collection in support of ILGA World, an organization fighting for equal rights for the LGBTQIA+ community. Both campaigns highlight personal stories and themes of pride, freedom, and hope.

Spanish footwear brand Mibo has released a collection called “Pride,” featuring sandals with designs inspired by the rainbow flag, celebrating diversity. Dockers, on the other hand, has presented its fourth annual “United by Love” collection, with proceeds supporting the Stonewall Community Foundation, which empowers the LGBTQ+ community in the United States.

Ralph Lauren, known for its strong support of Pride Month, has launched a Pride capsule collection, with proceeds benefiting the Stonewall Community Foundation. The campaign also showcases outdoor murals in New York and London created by LGBTQIA+ artists David Puck and Ashton Attzes.

C&A has transformed its website with rainbow colors in solidarity with Pride Month, launching the “LGBTQIA+U+ME” campaign. This initiative aims to address important issues such as equality and the protection of LGBTQ+ rights. Additionally, H&M-owned label COS is participating by donating proceeds from a special collection of re-purposed cotton tote bags and limited-edition t-shirts to the Kaleidoscope Trust.

The fashion industry’s enthusiastic embrace of Pride Month effectively demonstrates its commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and equality. Through the release of these special collections and donations to LGBTQ+ organizations, fashion brands are utilizing their platform to celebrate and support the community.
