Farfetch and Nataal Collaborate with Thom Browne to Celebrate African Culture and Fashion

Luxury fashion platform Farfetch and Nataal have once again joined forces to celebrate the rich culture, fashion, and art from Africa and its diaspora. This time, they have teamed up with renowned designer Thom Browne to create a captivating content that showcases revolutionary talent and diverse voices in the industry.

For this collaboration, three talented photographers were selected to interpret Thom Browne’s FW21 collection and create a series of mesmerizing editorials. Djeneba Aduayom, Arielle Bobb-Willis, and Ismail Zaidy each brought their distinctive perspectives and communities to the project, adding depth and uniqueness to the visuals.

Djeneba Aduayom captured the multidisciplinary artists Kolby, Byron, and William in Los Angeles, beautifully showcasing the fusion of art and fashion. Arielle Bobb-Willis, on the other hand, focused on photographing model Symone Lu and her skateboarding friends in New York, capturing the vibrant energy and essence of the city. Ismail Zaidy took a different approach, photographing his siblings Othmane and Fatima Zahra in Marrakech, highlighting the profound connection between family and fashion.

In addition to their stunning visuals, each photographer also shares their personal journey into photography, their approach to building communities, and their experience collaborating with Thom Browne for this project. This holistic approach not only showcases the fashion collection but also emphasizes the significance of unity, kinship, and the power of collaboration.

This collaboration marks the third in a series of creative projects between Farfetch and Nataal. The previous collaborations featured Balmain and Valentino, each magnifying different aspects of the fashion industry and shining a spotlight on the talents and stories of diverse artists and designers.

The Farfetch and Nataal partnership serves as a powerful testament to their commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity within the fashion world. By showcasing and celebrating the talent from Africa and its diaspora, they are actively challenging the traditional narrative and creating new avenues for creativity and expression.
