Excitement Grows for Paris Fashion Week with Ten New Members Announced

Paris Fashion Week is getting ready to kick off its upcoming season with a bang, as the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode has added ten new members to the official calendar. Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic, the French fashion governing body has made a bold statement by including the likes of Wales Bonner, Enfants Riches Déprimés, and S.R. Studio. LA. CA. – the fashion label of the renowned artist Sterling Ruby.

This exciting announcement underscores the unwavering commitment to the French runway season, showcasing collections from designers representing five different countries from September 28 to October 6. Notable brands such as AMI and Gabriela Hearst are among the ten talents set to participate in Paris Fashion Week this year.

The roster of new additions to the calendar includes four French names like AMI, Ester Manas, Vejas, and Mossi, founded by the talented designer Mossi Traoré. Representing the United States are S.R. Studio and Enfants Riches Déprimés, known for their avant-garde aesthetic.

In a bold and anticipated move, the highly acclaimed Post Soviet label Situationist will be making its Paris runway debut, showcasing its architectural aesthetic and powerful silhouettes. Adding to the mix, Cecilie Bahnsen, known for her romantic sophistication, will also present her collections in Paris.

Of special note is the return of Grace Wales Bonner to Paris, a London designer recognized for her innovative approach to exploring black culture and British style. Wales Bonner shot to international fame in 2016 when she became the first female recipient of the prestigious LVMH Prize.

With the inclusion of these new members, Paris Fashion Week promises to be a vibrant and diverse celebration of talent from across the globe. The City of Light is poised to dazzle with this lineup of emerging and established designers who are pushing the boundaries of fashion.
