Ermenegildo Zegna, the renowned luxury shoe brand, has recently reopened its flagship store in London after a 20-month renovation. Located at 37-38 New Bond Street, the Italian designer’s boutique is now ready to cater to customers once again.
To bring a fresh and contemporary touch to its flagship store, Ermenegildo Zegna collaborated with world-renowned architect Peter Marino. The result is a spacious store covering an area of almost 2,000 square meters, with a design that perfectly reflects the brand’s philosophy.
In order to create a unique and inviting atmosphere, the luxury shoe maker enlisted the help of renowned furniture designers Carlo Scarpa, Augusto Savini, and Osvaldo Borsani. Additionally, a stunning tapestry designed by William Kentridge adorns the Zegna flagship store in London, depicting the silhouette of the brand’s founder surrounded by sewing machines, clothing, and books.
To mark the reopening of the store, Ermenegildo Zegna organized an exclusive event on November 9, 2016, inviting prestigious personalities from various fields. Gildo Zegna, Anna Zegna, artistic director Alessandro Sartori, and William Kentridge were among the influential figures who attended the celebration.
One of the notable features of the newly reopened flagship store is an entire floor dedicated to Ermenegildo Zegna’s custom-made shoe offerings. This unique service allows customers to have their shoes made-to-order, ensuring a perfect fit and personalized design.
To announce the launch of this innovative service, Ermenegildo Zegna collaborated with Benjamin Millepied, former director of the Paris Opera, who danced in a short film directed by Zach Gold. This service is a result of a collection of nine shoe designs created by artistic director Alessandro Sartori, taking inspiration from his friends’ personal styles.
