Ermanno Piranes Appointed Chief Brand Officer of Delvaux

Ermanno Piraes has been appointed as the chief brand officer of prestigious luxury brand Delvaux, following its acquisition by Richemont earlier this year. Piraes is no newcomer to the brand, having previously worked for Delvaux almost ten years ago before joining Fendi as a press director. His return to Delvaux aligns with the reappointment of Jean-Marc Loubier as the CEO of the company.

The announcement of Piraes’ appointment was made internally through a memo, which outlined his role as being based in Brussels and responsible for overseeing the brand’s communication and product expression. Notably, he will be in charge of press, public relations, events, and digital communications. In his new position, Piraes will collaborate closely with the Creative, Product, and Merchandising departments, as well as the international business territories, including e-commerce.

Before returning to Delvaux, Piraes worked closely with Loubier after Delvaux was acquired by Temasek in 2011. During this period, the brand experienced substantial growth, witnessing annual sales surge from €18 million to over €120 million.

Delvaux, established in 1829, stands as one of the world’s oldest luxury leather goods houses. It holds the distinction of being the first to file a patent for leather handbags in 1908. Often referred to as the Hermès of Belgium, Delvaux is renowned for its exceptional quality, durability, and impeccable craftsmanship. Additionally, the brand has served as the official supplier to the Belgian royal court since 1883.

Richemont, Delvaux’s parent company, is a global luxury conglomerate. It specializes in the production of high-quality watches and jewelry and owns esteemed brands such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, IWC, Patek Philippe, and Jaeger-LeCoultre. In addition to its watch and jewelry portfolio, Richemont also controls fashion luxury brands, including Chloé and Maison Alaïa, as well as prestigious accessory brands like Dunhill and Montblanc.
