Elie Saab’s First-Ever Bridal Runway Show Steals the Spotlight at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week

Elie Saab, the famous luxury fashion house from Lebanon, created a buzz at the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week with its first-ever international runway show solely dedicated to bridal wear. The event took place at the Maritime Museum of Barcelona and showcased an exquisite collection of 30 bridal looks, all in pristine white. Drawing inspiration from the gardens of the renowned Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai, the designs featured gorgeous princess-style dresses as well as more contemporary and tailored cuts. The gowns were adorned with opulent fabrics and dazzling embellishments like sequins, pearls, and feathers, staying true to Elie Saab’s signature style. Despite Elie Saab himself being unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts, the show demonstrated the brand’s commitment to the bridal segment.

Elie Saab Jr, the CEO and son of the brand’s founder, expressed his admiration for the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week and its growth over the years. In an interview, he revealed that the bridal category currently contributes 15% of Elie Saab’s sales revenue, and the brand is delighted with the success of its bridal line since its relaunch in 2020. He emphasized the relevance of the bridal market and the brand’s desire to expand into this segment to reach a wider audience. The bridal line, featuring two collections per year, is now available in all Elie Saab stores and plays a significant role in the brand’s overall growth strategy.

Looking ahead, Elie Saab Jr discussed the possibility of showcasing future bridal collections through runway shows or presentations. He also highlighted the achievements of the brand’s ready-to-wear segment and its plans to strengthen the different product lines in its portfolio before venturing into new categories. With a network of 15 company-owned stores, Elie Saab aims to increase its store count to 25 by 2025. Furthermore, the brand enjoys a strong presence through its network of 300 wholesale sellers and its perfumes, which are sold in over 14,000 locations. Key markets for Elie Saab include the United States, the Middle East, and Europe.

The Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week commenced with a spectacular runway show by Jesús Peiró, followed by presentations from other esteemed designers such as Yolancris, Sophie et Voilà, and Isabel Sanchís. The event will continue until April 22 at the Montjuïc venue, featuring a total of 34 renowned designers showcasing their collections. This fashion week has established itself as a must-attend event for brands in the bridal industry, and Elie Saab’s participation further solidifies its reputation as a leader in bridal fashion. Overall, the show was a resounding success, showcasing the brand’s expertise and innovation in the world of bridal couture.
