DSquared2 Partners with Astound Commerce and ESW to Launch Online Flagship Store

Italian luxury label DSquared2 has partnered with digital commerce specialist Astound Commerce and D2C e-commerce specialist ESW to launch its new online flagship store. The brand’s emphasis on driving direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales prompted the creation of the transformative e-flagship, offering fully localized D2C and cross-border solutions such as payments, customer support, and supply chain management. In an impressive feat, the project was completed within just 16 weeks.

DSquared2, founded and led by twins Dean and Dan Caten, is currently available in its own stores and selective retailers like Saks Fifth Avenue, Harrods, and Seibu Ikeburo. However, the brand aimed to take full control of its online storefront and e-commerce operations to deliver a high-quality, personalized online shopping experience comparable to that of in-store shopping. The objective was to maximize global D2C reach and revenue.

To meet DSquared2’s requirements and strict deadline, Astound utilized its proprietary accelerator, Launch360: Storefront, to upgrade the brand’s existing Salesforce Commerce Cloud implementation and expedite time to market. Regression testing was also implemented early in the development phase to ensure a seamless transition. Simultaneously, ESW designed a comprehensive go-live plan encompassing the entire cross-border e-commerce value chain. The plan included various API integrations, such as a geo-triggered welcome mat with market-specific messaging, to provide customers with consistent experiences throughout their journey, from checkout to returns and customer support services.

Raffaele Nardo, DSquared2’s Chief Digital Officer, emphasized the brand’s commitment to providing customers with an enhanced digital shopping experience that mirrors the localized in-store experience. Every touchpoint in the online and post-purchase journey was optimized to achieve this objective.

The collaboration between DSquared2, Astound Commerce, and ESW has culminated in the launch of a cutting-edge online flagship store, aligning with the brand’s vision for D2C expansion. By focusing on localization, seamless customer experiences, and efficient supply chain management, DSquared2 aims to further solidify its position in the global luxury market.
